Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our products and services

What's the difference between H4 and H3.2 treatment?

H4 treatment is designed for timber in ground contact, providing protection against decay and termites when buried in soil. H3.2 treatment is for above-ground use, suitable for rails, decking, and framing exposed to weather. We can help you choose the right treatment for your specific application.

How long will treated timber last?

Properly treated and installed H4 posts can last 15-25 years or more in ground contact, while H3.2 rails typically last 15+ years above ground. Longevity depends on installation methods, soil conditions, and maintenance.

Do you deliver to my area?

We deliver throughout Northland, including Whangārei, Kerikeri, Paihia, Russell, Kawakawa, Moerewa, Kaikohe, Dargaville, and surrounding areas. Delivery fees depend on distance and load size. Contact us for a delivery quote to your specific location.

Can I get custom sizes cut?

Yes! Our sawmill can produce custom-cut timber to your specifications. Whether you need unusual post dimensions, specific rail lengths, or special cuts, we can accommodate most requests. Additional charges may apply for custom work.

How do I calculate how much timber I need?

We offer free project consultation to help you calculate quantities. Bring us your fence plans or property details, and we'll help you determine exactly what you need. This service helps prevent over-ordering or running short mid-project.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept cash, EFTPOS, bank transfer, and credit cards. For larger commercial orders, we can arrange credit accounts subject to approval. Payment is required before or on delivery for most orders.
